Your Role

The Director of Client Development is responsible for driving local government market sector growth in the states of Ohio, Colorado, and Texas through prospecting, relationship development, and closure of sales.  As a Director of Client Development, you will collaborate with other Directors (of Client Development) and Chief Marketing Officer to define growth strategy, annual plan, investment, value proposition and justification to penetrate the market sector. You will interface with CR's internal client/project teams and marketing department to support and deliver results while serving as the business champion and CR's market sector intelligence expert. 


What You Will Do

  • Specifically focus on the growth of the local government market sector in the states of Ohio, Colorado, and Texas; secure new business to meet/exceed specific "New Business" revenue goals
  • Develop a client development strategy to build pipelines and penetrate assigned market sector
  • Drive lead development and forge relationships with targeted prospective clients
  • Collaborate with internal client/project teams to leverage and grow active/inactive client(s) relationships
  • Execute client development plan to meet performance metrics (i.e. relationship development and sales closure goals) defined for the role
  • Facilitate input from and collaborate with Marketing and internal client/project teams to define market sector, and client specific value propositions
  • Manage business development and relationships with market sector associations, networks, and industry experts
  • Conduct market/competitive research and track market sector(s) trends
  • Contribute to development of website, collateral, public relations and sales tools
  • Attend market sector specific networking events (i.e. conferences, tradeshows and local networking meetings)
  • Develop strategies for proposals, presentations and interviews
  • Maintain opportunity pipeline
  • Manage budget for client development activities for assigned market sector
  • Monitor market sector lead retrieval sites
  • Successfully work within the constraints of schedule and budget to consistently produce superior results
  • Measure self-performance and report weekly progress to Chief Marketing Officer to define planned versus actual "relationship development" and "sales" results


Your Qualifications

  • Minimum of Bachelor's Degree with accumulated technical experience
  • 10+ years client development/client relationship experience
  • Experience in A/E/C or professional services is required
  • Experience in the local government market sector is required
  • Experience in market research and trend analysis
  • Strong organizational, team building, time management and leadership skills
  • Project management skills and experience
  • Self-motivated, ability to work independently
  • Fluent in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and CRM systems
  • Availability and expectation for travel, up to 25% overnight
